And Now For Something Completely Different!
Before the big Exchange of Gifts this year, there was a Presentation of a different sort...
Here's the story...
On November 6, 1998, Our Brother, Lenny was given a gift on his 40th Birthday.
It was this coffee mug.
It was passed down to him by his very good friend, Willy, who received it on his 40th.
The history of the "cup" goes back a few years before that, as well.
Each time the "cup" was passed down, a little note of "encouragement" went along with it. Lenny gave the cup to Joe on Feb 25, 2000...who gave it to John on Feb 20, 2006...who gave it to Steve on December 1, 2008.
This year, Steve presented the mug to Mike (who turned 40 on October 28, 2011) at the Family Gathering.

Steve compiled all the "notes" that were given with each presentation, and a brief "History of the Cup" into book form, and Mike is now it's proud owner.
Who will be next??? Only Mike knows!

Tomorrow: The youngest Martineau's open their gifts.
Stay Tuned!!!
OK, I've read through all of the entries (1 - 5) and it is all wonderful, but I absolutely adore the passing of the cup. Great tradition.
